  • Jeff Schaeffer
    Founder & CEO

    Jeff Schaeffer

    Jeff has spent the last 10 years building analytical products to support complex clinical workflows and quantitative research for healthcare providers and life sciences. As an early employee and the first product management hire at Tempus AI, Jeff led the design, development, and launch of products supporting genomic sequencing lab workflows, molecular pathology and clinical reporting for cancer patients, and Tempus Lens, an analytical platform enabling deep quantitative research using millions of de-identified multimodal patient records.

    Prior to Tempus, Jeff was the product leader for relevance and personalization at Groupon, optimizing the matching of daily deals to users via a suite of finely-tuned machine learning algorithms. Jeff also served executive leaders as both a consultant in Deloitte’s Strategy & Operations practice, and as an auditor and CPA at Ernst & Young. Jeff earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Miami University, an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, and a Master’s in computer science from the University of Chicago.

  • Kelly Larrabee-Robke
    Vice President, CNIO

    Kelly Larrabee-Robke

    Kelly has been leading innovation and care delivery improvement teams in healthcare organizations and Fortune 50 healthcare and technology companies, including as the Associate Vice President and Chief Nursing Informatics Officer at Ascension Healthcare, as the Chief Nursing Officer at Microsoft, and in leadership roles at Oracle and Pfizer. As a Registered Nurse, Kelly has cared for patients at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia and the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

    Kelly has been awarded two patents in Medication Management Systems, and has spoken at numerous global healthcare technology and innovation conferences. Kelly served on the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Nursing Informatics Advisory Board, and the Corporate Advisory Board of the American Nurses Association. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from West Virginia University, an MBA from the University of Houston, a Master’s of Science in Drug and Device Regulation from the University of Southern California, and a Doctorate of Executive Nursing Leadership Practice from Vanderbilt University.

  • Roger Castillo
    Chief Technology Officer

    Roger Castillo

    Roger has over 20 years of executive engineering management experience at some of the largest and fastest growing tech companies in the world, and has served as founder and CTO of multiple successfully exited startups. Roger most recently served as the Director of Decision Science and Experimentation at Amazon, leading a combined team of engineers and scientists that built decision-science products, which supported product launch decision-making across Amazon.

    Prior to Amazon, Roger was the CTO for Incedo Inc, building a suite of cloud-based machine learning products to optimize operations and facilitate digital transformation efforts in financial services, healthcare, and telecom. Roger was also the head of search and discovery at Groupon (via the acquisition of his startup Loku), and built the infrastructure and platform serving personalization and relevance to 100s of millions of users on mobile, email, and web user experiences. Roger was also the founder of AlterPoint (acquired by Trilogy), a network management software provider delivering infrastructure automation solutions to the largest enterprise networks in the world.
